September’s First Friday Brings Art to Bellevue

On Friday, September 6, 2024, Bellevue Forward hosted September’s First Friday, an evening of art, culture, and community engagement. This free event ran from 6 PM to 10 PM and featured the works of three talented local artists: Emily Glass, Jillian Love, and Libby Rosengren. Held across three local venues—Tavern Pizza, 565 LIVE, and Lincoln Avenue Brewery—this event offered attendees a chance to enjoy stunning artwork while supporting local businesses. Visitors were encouraged to purchase food and drinks as they explored the exhibitions, making it a perfect blend of art and community spirit.

Emily Glass displayed her paintings at Tavern Pizza, mesmerizing visitors with her unique combination of realism and abstraction. Known for her dramatic use of a full-color palette, Emily’s pieces invite viewers into a world where vibrant hues blend to evoke both emotion and imagination. At 565 LIVE, Jillian Love featured her captivating photographs, each one telling a story that draws the viewer into a compelling narrative. According to Jillian, “we’re going to have artists from the community displaying their work at various restaurants and shops throughout Bellevue… let’s have a good time.” Libby Rosengren, an abstract artist, presented her bold, bright creations at Lincoln Avenue Brewery, where her pieces told captivating stories through intricate color combinations and brushwork.

First Fridays is a program of Bellevue Forward, a non-profit dedicated to promoting economic development and cultural engagement in Bellevue, PA.
