Event Information

Parking

  • Parking is available at the locations on the map above.
  • Please do not park beyond the roundabout by the pool, this is part of the running loop and reserved for our vendor set up.
  • Please arrive by 8:00 – 8:15 to allow adequate time for registration and equipment check in.
  • The registration tent is between the swimming pool and playground.

Once You Arrive…

  • Upon arrival, please make you way to the registration tent located between the swimming pool and the playground.
  • Your child will be given a number and t-shirt after getting signed in.
  • You will be directed to wait near the pool area while registration is completed for everyone.

Schedule of Events

  • The first event is scheduled to start at 9 AM after an 8:45 AM group stretch led by The Lotus People yoga studio.
    Event will proceed from swim > run > bike with each age group starting at a different station and rotating through (see below).
  • Please remain at each station until directed to move to the next to allow the groups ahead of you to finish.
  • Please wait for direction from the police officer managing traffic on
  • New Brighton Road prior to crossing for events.
    Event Sequence

Age 6-7 – Start at bike, then swim, then run
Age 8-9 – Start at run, then bike, then swim
Age 10-12 – Start at swim, then run, then bike

Note For Parents

  • Please ensure your child has all necessary equipment to participate.
  • There is limited downtime between events so please plan an outfit for swimming that can be worn under any clothing for the other events.
  • Please bring swim goggles/cap if desired.
  • A working bicycle in good working order is required.
  • Helmets are required on the bicycle course and no participants will be allowed on without one.
  • Please have appropriate closed toe footwear for the biking and running events.
  • There will be limited shade available during the event so please prepare your participant with appropriate sun blocking clothing and lotions as necessary.
  • Light snacks including bananas and carrots have been generously provided by Lucky Bites and other local businesses for free. Bottled water is also available on site for free.
  • Please bring any additional snacks and drinks you would like for yourselves and children. The snack bar at the pool will be open for your convenience at additional cost. Kona ice will be selling their products as well.

Awards Ceremony and Close of Event

  • The award ceremony is scheduled to start around noon in the pool area.
  • Trophies will given to the top male and female participant in each of the age groups.
  • The entire event should be completed by roughly 1pm.

Kids Tri North Boroughs

Kids Tri North Boroughs: Avalon is a family-friendly, high-energy community event presented by Keystone Physicians DPC in partnership with Bellevue Forward. Designed to bring together local youth, families, and residents, Kids Tri offers a day centered on fitness, fun, and community pride…right here in Avalon.

As part of the broader Kids Tri concept, this event highlights how accessible and adaptable youth triathlons can be in any community. Our Avalon edition is intentionally “fun-first,” focusing on participation, encouragement, and accessibility for all experience levels. By creating a welcoming space for first-time racers, we aim to inspire healthy habits, build confidence, and showcase Avalon as a vibrant hub for community-driven events.

Please see the approximate race distances for each age group below:

 – Ages 6-7: Run 0.25 miles, bike 0.25 miles, and swim 25m.
  – Ages 8-9: Run 0.5 miles, bike 0.5 miles, and swim 50m.
  – Ages 10-12: Run 0.75 miles, bike 0.75 miles, and swim 75m.
