Celebrating Excellence in Community Engagement: Bradley Dietz and Rebecca Bivona
The Department of Community Engagement is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2024 Excellence in Community Engagement Awards: Bradley Dietz and Rebecca Bivona. These two remarkable students have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to using their creative talents to serve the community of Bellevue, making Point Park a better place to live, work, and learn. Their independent study projects with Bellevue Forward, a nonprofit focused on economic development and community engagement, showcase the profound impact of student-led initiatives.
Bradley Dietz made waves in Bellevue with his innovative graphic design work for the town’s inaugural Halloween Celebration. His dynamic visuals, including a striking t-shirt design, brought excitement to the event and raised over $2,000 to support Bellevue Forward’s initiatives. As a Bellevue resident, Bradley’s contributions were deeply personal and resonated strongly within his hometown, where his family and neighbors saw the tangible impact of his work. Remarkably, this project marked Bradley’s first professional production, making his achievements even more significant.
Rebecca Bivona’s work was equally impactful, focusing on original illustrations for the Bellevue Spotlight Series, a program celebrating local changemakers. Her stunning portraits of three influential women highlighted their contributions to the community while inspiring positivity and recognition throughout Bellevue. These professionally produced posters, Rebecca’s first, were distributed widely and left a lasting emotional impact. Both Bradley and Rebecca have not only demonstrated their exceptional talent but also their commitment to making a difference through community engagement. Their journey continues as they step into their roles as Bellevue Forward’s inaugural interns in Spring 2025, where they’ll undoubtedly continue to uplift and inspire their community. Congratulations to these outstanding students!
