Bellevue Business Brew Marketing Meetup: A Successful Collaboration for Business Growth
On August 17th, Bellevue Forward and the American Marketing Association (AMA) – Pittsburgh chapter came together to host the inaugural Bellevue Business Brew Marketing Meetup at Bellevue Beans Coffee Purveyors. The event aimed to connect Bellevue-based retail, restaurant, and home-based businesses with skilled marketers from AMA Pittsburgh, offering free consultations to help elevate the marketing profiles of these local enterprises. This collaboration marked the beginning of a promising partnership between Bellevue Forward and AMA Pittsburgh, designed to support and strengthen the Bellevue business community.

The two-hour event saw a strong turnout, with around 40 participants at its peak. The crowd was composed of approximately 70% local businesses and 30% marketers, creating a dynamic environment of learning and networking. Among the marketers in attendance were AMA Pittsburgh board members, committee members, general marketing practitioners, and even a few marketing and design professors from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, Point Park University Rowland School of Business, and the Community College of Allegheny County. The businesses that attended were primarily focused on the restaurant and food product sectors, making the event particularly relevant for the local culinary scene.
The consultations offered during the meetup covered a wide range of topics, including website design, social media strategies, photography, multimedia production, event planning, marketing strategy development, SEO, SEM, and even advice on hiring interns. For many of the business owners, this was a unique opportunity to receive guidance from marketing professionals they wouldn’t typically have access to. The event provided these entrepreneurs with valuable insights into the foundational marketing principles that are crucial for growing their businesses.

Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. The business owners expressed gratitude for the attention and expertise they received, as many of them were unfamiliar with the marketing landscape and unsure of where to start. The marketers, on the other hand, were excited to contribute their knowledge, especially when it came to businesses outside their usual scope of work.
In conclusion, the Bellevue Business Brew Marketing Meetup was a strong start to what promises to be a fruitful collaboration between Bellevue Forward and AMA Pittsburgh. The event not only provided immediate value to local businesses but also set the stage for continued support and growth within the Bellevue community.
